Participation in ORGIN – Organic Inputs Evaluation. The objective of the project is to develop recommendations for harmonized and standardized procedures for the evaluation of plant protection products, as well as for fertilizers and soil conditioners authorized for use in organic agriculture according to Council Regulation 2092/91. Participation in ORGREV – Organic Farming Revision. The overall objective of the project is to provide recommendations for development of the EU regulation for organic agriculture. 6th Framework Programme. http://www.organic-revision.org/

“The leap ahead: Implementation of the Slovenian Action plan for organic farming”. Partners: Organic Farmers' Association Central Slovenia, Umanotera; DEBIO (Norway). Financial support: Financial Mechanism EGP and Norwegian Financial Mechanism, July 2008 - December 2009.

 

Conversion of farms in the Community of Ljubljana into organic agriculture”. Facilitation of conversion of urban and peri-urban farms, situated in environmentally sensitive areas of capital city’s community, into organic farms). Funded by the City Community of Ljubljana. 1998-2009.

 

"Organic Farm as a Workshop on Environment Protection". Development and implementation of education on environment protection and organic farming on organic farms, for the children in primary schools. Funded by the City Community of Ljubljana. 2000-2009, on-going.


Coordination of “Organic farmers’ market in Ljubljana”. Setting-up, co-ordination and further development and of the first organic farmers’ market in Slovenia and support of other organic marketing initiatives. Funded by the City Community of Ljubljana. 1999-2009, on-going.

            

"ECOFEST in Ljubljana". Organisation of the event  presenting organic food and farming as well as other "green" offer (products and services) benefiting environment and health and promoting a sustainable lifestyle;open-air fair, educational events, celebrations. Since 2002 every 2nd Saturday in September, in Ljubljana.

 

"Preparations of Slovenian Environmental NGOs for Slovenian Presidency to the EU Council".

 

 

NGO contribution to the national and EU Action plan on organic farming and promotion of the public debate”. Organisation of workshops for representatives of the civil sector (NGOs); governmental officials, business etc. on the further development of organic farming in Slovenia and in the EU; promotion of implementation of sustainable rural development and organic farming. Funded by EU/PHARE SP Programme of the Delegation of European Commission in the RS, Ministry of Environment and Information Office of the Government of RS. 2004-2005.

 

Sun Kitchen: let’s cook and eat organic and healthy”. Development of trainings on organic food and farming and healthy nutrition for primary and secondary school teachers and organic farmers, preparation of a toolkit / manual for teachers, establishing co-operation between schools and organic farms, and a concourse “7 top breakfasts from the Sun Kitchen” for school classes. In co-operation with USOFA (Zveza BIODAR). Co-funded by the Ministy of Health. 2003-2005.

 

Partner in the project YOUTH-FARM - Educational kit for young farmers in the accession countries.  Leonardo da Vinci programme, 2003-2006. Elaboration of training modules for young farmers in the new EU member states.

Development of a website with information on organic farming, Slovenian organisations active in organic farming and current agenda of events related to organic farming and food, nutrition as well as »eco & healthy« lifestyle. "ECO-AGRO-TOURISM”. Development of specific training and manual on ecotourism on organic farms. 2002-2003, co-funded by EU/PHARE SP Programme of the Delegation of European Commission in the RS , Information Office of the Government of Slovenia. 2003.

 

"Creating a favourable environment for sustainable rural development initiatives based on quality of agricultural production, co-operation and nature protection". Workshops, conference and a publication on rural development obstacles in Slovenia and their removal, with regard to sustainable rural development in the country and in the light of accession to the EU. 2002, funded by EU/PHARE SP Programme of the Delegation of European Commission in the RS.

 

“NGO coalition for sustainable rural development and agri-environment”. Setting up of the coalition to promote sustainable rural development; build up environmental NGOs’ capacities in agricultural policy issues and related issues on national and European level. 2002, funded by the Ministry of European Affairs of the RS and Information Office of the Government of Slovenia.

 

"Implementation of animal welfare requirements on Slovenian farms, as resulting from EU accession". Development of a 2-day training course for experts and a series of 5 regional training courses, publication of a manual. 2001. Funded by EU/PHARE SP Programme of the Delegation of European Commission in the RS and Information Office of the Government of Slovenia.

 

»Formazione Eco-turismo (Education for eco-tourism)«. Identification of training needs for operators and farmers involved in ecotourism on organic farms, elaboration of educational packages. AIAB, ISD, SÖL (Italy, Slovenia, Germany), Univ. Molise, IPL (Italy). EU-Leonardo project. 2000-2001.

 

Research project "Soil and water management in agricultural production in urban areas of CEE/NIS countries". International project, co-ordinated by ETC Netherlands. Funded by EC DG XII (Inco-Coopernicus Programme). 1998-2001.

 

"Accession to EU - an opportunity for sustainable agriculture, protected areas and countryside". A series of 5 regional conferences with workshops for participants (farmers, NGOs; local communities, public services) and final national conference. 2000, Funded by EU/PHARE SP Programme of the Delegation of European Commission in the RS, Information Office of the Government of Slovenia, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Agriculture.

 

Project "Certification of ecological farms in Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Croatia", 1998/99 (development of control and certification of organic farms.) Funded by REC Budapest, Austrian Inst. for S-E Europe, Ministry of Environment and EEB Brussels.

 

Development project "Biodiversity Garden in Regional Park Snežnik" (plan and establishment of plant biodiversity garden and establishment of network of maintainers of endangered and rare agricultural and autochthonous plant species). Funded by Ministry of Environment. 1999.

 

Research/development project “Standardisation and control of organic farming in Slovenia” - development of proposal of the Regulation on ecological farming in Slovenia, with comments (financed by the Ministry of Agriculture). 1998.

 

Project “Concept of certification of ecological farming” (funded by Ministry of Environment), 1997.

 

Elaboration of national recommendations (standards) for organic farming in Slovenia, Ljubljana. 1996.

 

“Agriculture and Water” – an info campaign about water pollution in agriculture; bad and good agricultural practices. Funded by the Ministry of Environment and OSI Slovenia. 1997.

 

“A Farming for the Future”. Development and publication of an information package on ecological farming. Funded by the Slovenian Ministries of Environment and of Agriculture and Schweisfurth Stiftung. 1996.
